Sharjah

The Artistic Soul of the Emirates

Sharjah is known for its strong focus on culture, heritage, and education.  It’s often called the cultural capital of the UAE home to numerous museums, art galleries, and beautifully preserved historical sites. The Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization and Sharjah Art Foundation are major attractions.

Unlike some of its glitzier neighbors, Sharjah maintains a more traditional and family-oriented atmosphere, with stricter laws around public behavior and dress. It’s also the only emirate with land on both the Arabian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman, giving it access to both coasts.
Want a fun fact? Sharjah was named the Cultural Capital of the Arab World by UNESCO in 1998!
